This is the initial draft for the contents of my magazine.
For the contents page of my magazine, I will attempt to follow similar codes and conventions as the ‘Vibe’ magazine which I analysed.
My contents page will be image dominated. On the drawing of my draft, I included an image of popular artist, ‘Jessie J’ in a girly pose while blowing a bubble from her bubble gum. This image will take over the majority of the page to entice her fans to continue reading to discover more about her. It will be superimposed over the heading of the page to represent its importance and the subject of the image will be looking directly towards the camera to act as a personal pronoun by enticing the audience personally.
The title will state ‘Contents’ in large, bold letters to allow it to stand out on the page in a simple sans serif font to appeal to the younger target audience. It will also be written in a colour which stands out in contrast to the background colour for added noticeability.
I will also incorporate the obvious feature of a column down the left-hand side of the page including the title of each page linked to the corresponding page number to allow the reader to immediately realise where they can find their desired content to eliminate confusion. Beneath each page title I will include a short description of what the reader can expect to find on the page with intriguing language to entice the reader to discover more.
I will split the pages into different categories depending on the content allowing the reader to find specific pages more easily. The title of each section will be written in a font which will stand out on the page so the reader can easily notice it.
The colour scheme will match the front cover for consistency. Furthermore, all fonts will be in colours which stand out in contrast to the background. The majority of fonts on the contents will be sans serif fonts for simplicity for the younger intended market.
